2020 marks the inaugural vintage of our Mule Plane Vineyard Carignane, which is located in the Mokelumne River AVA, nestled within the overarching Lodi AVA. This historic 5-acre site is managed by John Shinn and is planted to own-rooted Carignane, which dates back nearly 100 years. On the palate, the wine is balanced, bright, and laden with juicy flavors of red cherry, cranberry, thyme, and a touch of white pepper. Mule Plane gets its name from the mule-drawn plane that John Shinn’s grandfather regularly saw his uncle using to level the field before planting. The site is Lodi Rules Sustainable certified.
